Information about Travel, VISA,and Currency

Travel

The airport code for Chengdu is CTU . Normally you need transfer at Beijing (PEK) or Shanghai (PVG).
Once you have booked your flight, please send us your schedule, we will arrange someone to meet you at Chengdu airport.

VISA

If you hold a foreign passport, you will need a visa to enter China.
There are two possibilities:

  • a tourist visa (L visa), which is very easy to get (no justification document being required),
  • a business visa (F visa), for which an invitation letter is required.

Currency

The Chinese currency is RMB (as of Feb. 10, 2009 1 USD = 6.8 RMB and 1 EUR =8.9 RMB).

Please note that Chinese currency may not be exported from China.

You will have to withdraw or change money upon arrival in China.

ATMs accepting major debit and credit cards can be found in airports and banks.

You can also change money in airports or at branches of the Bank of China.
